12 Year Prayers of St. Bridget
A devotion revealed by Our Lord to St. Bridget of Sweden, consisting of 15 prayers to be said daily for 12 years.
Duration: 15-20 minutes daily for 12 years
History
St. Bridget of Sweden (1303-1373) was a mystic and founder of the Bridgettine Order. Our Lord appeared to her in visions and revealed these prayers, promising great graces to those who faithfully recite them.
The devotion consists of 15 prayers (7 Our Fathers, 7 Hail Marys, and 15 special prayers) to be recited daily for 12 years. Each prayer meditates on a different aspect of Christ's Passion and honors the wounds He suffered for our salvation.
St. Bridget was canonized in 1391 by Pope Boniface IX and declared a patron saint of Europe by Pope John Paul II in 1999.
Promises
- 1The soul who prays them will suffer no Purgatory.
- 2The soul will be accepted among the Martyrs as though they had spilled their blood for the faith.
- 3The soul can choose three others whom Jesus will keep in a state of grace sufficient to become holy.
- 4The souls of four of their family members will be saved from Purgatory.
- 5The soul will be made aware of their death one month in advance.
- 615 souls from their lineage will be confirmed and preserved in grace.
